The Pride of Ramsgate (Cliffsend)
Well, I felt I must write this on my blog, only hoping one of the TDC might pick it up and act. All summer I have been going past the Hugin Ship Picnic site both mornings and evenings sometimes mid afternoons, on very few of these occasions has the barrier across the entrance been open. I have seen many people turn into the entrance only to turn round and go away again. I thought we were publishing the Viking ship as one of Thanets Best and yet we are no doing anything to encourage visitors to stop and enjoy the area. I have written to TDC Leisure Department and Mr 'carpet' Ezekiel and received no response, but then I did only write on the 10th of the month, so perhaps am expecting a miracle. I have seen also several people using the site as a toilet as the facilities have been shut..............what are we paying our council tax for? I have asked for an explanation and promises that it will be sorted out for visitors next year. This week I have seen the start of the removal of the shields etc for the winter, but does that mean that people don't still want to go there. I suggested that we leave the site barrier open and let people who want to visit park free!!
